Greetings. I also am actively seeking to be part of an intentional community but hope to stay a bit closer to my home and native land, beautiful British Columbia Canada.

There are many reasons why north and central British Columbia Canada is a favoured survival location. For one thing, according to channelled maps of the Earth's past surface this is one of the few areas that has remained above water going back hundreds of millions years. For another there are vast areas of former forest land now laid to waste by pine beetles and forest fires that can be rehabilitated into the future hemp based food, fibre and energy economy. The town of 100 Mile House already has a pioneering hemp growing trials and processing facility going and is centrally located to draw on potentially huge plantations in the area.

Just need a few more community like-minded visionaries to make it happen.

I will gladly assist in the construction and finance of it. Hope to hear from someone soon. ;D

Excellent idea Veski! A meeting of like minds in real time is what is needed.
Somewhere in europe would be preferable i think for the majority of people,but where around the world is the halfway house? India ..maybe. Anyway we all need to congregate somewhere and thrash out some real progress. I think the financing of the shangri-la will be the biggest hurdle to overcome as Les said,so our first priority should be to establish exactly how much money we can raise to finance the venture,then go from there.It's time todig deep and put our money where our mouths are!

I don't think most of our readers and members are like that. I've been getting visits from a number of people and serious interest in this community as well. it's only a couple of million Euro shy of reality and I already have one existing in Italy. As for meeting, most places in and around France/Germany/Switzerland and Austria provide great possibilities and guarantee people showing up. Vietnam is going to prove too far for most people.

There's the thing, for me getting to Vietnam would be easier. The idea of a real community, based on an internet start, would have to be done as multiple locations and communities probably with a matrix of connections. Otherwise I can't see too many from the Southern Hemisphere wanting to come to anything in the North, long term. Down here we tend to look at the Northern Hemsiphere as dangerous country. Bad stuff happens to people and countries up there, the North is at least one year closer to nuclear armageddon than the South and so on.

Personally I'm all for an independent island. Occupy or annex some island and try to carve out some sort of independent arrangement via commerce with enough opposing forces as to be able to sit safely in the divide.  Should be a few well facilitated ex US army bases coming up over the next few years.

Quiete a group of aware souls and i suppose i would just try to be a link in the chain, (a good chain). Groups in general are something i have been apart of off and on for a long time, they are challanging for me at times as i am by nature an indepentant person,but always willing to learn. Having grown up in the country i prefer to be in the country. I was raised around a sawmill and a ranch so there is not much i won't tackle when it comes to practical applications from animals to machinery and gardens . Have an expired pilots liecence although i doult we will be flying much in the next few years.I like to cook and as les said i enjoy grunt work.  Spiritually my backgound is mainly native american.  I am trained to do some body work (learned to do it because of a motorcycle accident years ago) Green houses are my soft spot, i just like hanging out with the plants . That is the practical side in a nutshell. I think were we are going we are going to be surprised at what is really needed in the coming times, what is needed? i have no idea, just  a willingness to be open to it all.

Hey Astraea;

I am sorry I missed this. I don't get informed, for some reason when (Oh, I see- never mind) ///Thank you for the wonderful words of support and please forgive me for missing this. I know it makes me look rude but I never saw it. I stopped coming around even before I went to Italy last time (I think). Anyway, I'm back now.

Love,
